Parol a star-shaped Christmas lantern patterned after the Star of Bethlehem, which guided the three kings to the Child Jesus in a manger, comes in different sizes and designs, and are made from bamboo covered with paper. They are displayed in houses, offices, buildings, and streets which according to tradition and beliefs of Filipinos, parols represents victory of light over darkness.
