Bio: Who is David Brown and What is The Krewe of Sound?
For those not familiar with New Orleans, all Mardi Gras parades are called krewes – The Krewe of Rex, The Krewe of Bacchus, The Krewe of Zulu etc.
David Brown & The Krewe of Sound are musician folks who make Mardi Gras with their original New Orleans influenced and inspired music, which they apply to any and all genres of music.
David Brown and his wife Barbara are both New Orleans natives and Jack Braet was trained at North Texas State. Together this group of friends, including Dan Albrecht, Drums, Johnny Qwest, Dumbek, Tabla, and Gary Donefer, Bass, play a variety of original progressive rock and jazz.
Most songs are written by ethnomusicologist David Brown who always comes back to his rock and roll roots with a jazz sensibility and a funky lilt – after all he learned it all in New Orleans. Barbara Brown and Jack Braet also contribute with writing, arranging and recording.
