Touraine: Chenonceaux Castle on the Cher. Completely destroyed in 1411 except for the dungeon, it was replaced in 1513 by a simple residence on water, which Philibert DELORME linked to the Cher's opposite bank by a bridge. The terrace separates the garden of Diane of Poitiers from that of Catherine of Medicis' (Indre-et-Loire). Touraine: le château de Chenonceau sur le Cher.
