Dizzy Dean Sitting on Bleachers
(Original Caption) Just as he was preparing to pitch against the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field, Brooklyn, New York, June 2nd, Dizzy Dean, of the St. Louis Cardinals, was informed by Umpire Ernest Quigley that Ford Frick, president of the National League, had suspended him indefinitely, the result of an accumulation of acts "detrimental to baseball". Dean, one of the more colorful members of the Gas House Gang, is shown, seriously watching the Red Birds defeat the Dodgers 6 to 2, as he pondered over his suspension.
