Agbogbloshie, is a neighborhood located in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. It is one of the largest e-waste processing sites in the world. The area gained international attention due to its extensive informal recycling activities, especially for electronic waste.It became a hub for e-waste processing and recycling because of its proximity to the scrap metal market and the availability of cheap labor. However, the informal practices used in processing electronic waste, such as burning cables to extract valuable metals, have raised concerns about environmental and health risks.
